I have started work on putting together a team for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the help of Dromare. We have a bunch of good players so we are going to try to get in to the TWL league shortly. Since the game is lacking in all aspects of competitiveness it's hard to get in to the game seriously, but we are going to give it a shot and hopefully in the upcoming months IW will make some changes and there will be some kind of update that will bring the game back to the competitive main stream, because honestly it is a fun game, it just lacks certain features.
We are planning on getting heavily in to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for the 4v4 5v5 infantry ladders, but that will be a couple months away. If MW2 still sucks for competition at that time, then I doubt we will continue playing it seriously. With the lack of dedicated servers and a pro mod, it makes the game cheesy and slightly annoying in a public setting.
Suave Quake Live has been getting slower and slower it seems, the community has gotten really small, there are some 2v2 tournaments coming up that we are involved in, but other than that it's pretty dead. I still expect a slight upturn in competition some time this year, but I doubt it will be very great. If Suave wants to continue to compete in Quake, it may have to be in the form of a CTF team, which has never worked out very well for us in the past.
I wish everyone a happy New Year, I hope it's a wonderful year for you all.
